Venture Land - Sunday Mornings

Children are so important to us here at Water's Edge Bible Church. We love providing them with a safe, fun, and encouraging environment in which to learn and grow in their love for God.

Lil Venture

Room 208, Sunday 9:00 am - Noon
Lil venture currently serves infants through early two-year olds. The majority of the time is spent playing. Our main purpose is to provide a loving, safe, and relaxed environment for our little ones. We typically schedule 2 volunteers each hour.

Mini Venture

Room 107, Sunday, 9:00 am - Noon

This class is designed for older 2's through Kindergarten and is a much more structured environment. During first hour, we have three 15-minute rotations. The rotations include a Bible story, a game, and a craft. There is built-in play time, but it is limited to the first 15 minutes of class and then again between the first and second hour. A snack is also served between first and second hour. Second hour is similar to first hour, but with a few extra activities. Second hour includes a time of worship, skit, Bible story, games, crafts, and Bible memory.

Kid Venture

Gym, Sunday, 10:45 - Noon

Designed for students in 1st through 5th grades, this class is a fun, energetic, and creative environment. The kids hear a Bible story in a large group setting from a consistent teacher each week. This is followed up with small group time where the kids can apply what they have heard, and connect with each other and a consistent adult who is pouring into them each week.

Child Protection Policy

WEBC has never had a problem with a child or youth being molested in our church, but in order to guard against a problem in the future, we have developed a child protection policy. The policy meets both state and federal standards. It is extensive, so it is not printed here, but is available upon request at the church office (630-231-1210).

The policy states that there will be at least two screened workers in any setting where children or youth are meeting, in any kind of activity. Potential workers complete an application, after which references are checked, and background checks are made on the Internet. An office staff worker compiles the information and passes it along to an elder for final review. All workers provide a one-page update annually, and the policy is reviewed with the workers each year. Having two workers makes the likelyhood of improper actions with children and youth very unlikely. It also helps provide protection for a worker from being falsely accused, as might be the case if only one worker is present. The policy applies to all ages from nursery through high school, in every kind of activity. We encourage you to bring your children to any and all ministries of the church.
